Jefferson County Public Schools sends out a postcard to schools, partents and community members announcing the Discover Languages Showcase for Elementry Schools, planned for February 28th. The event will feature an exhibition of student work in world language programs at the elementary school level and a showcase of student performances in dance, music, and drama that highlight students’ knowledge of world languages and cultures. Celebrating Discover Languages month are Terry Caccavale, President of the National Network on Early Language Learning (NNELL), Rita Oleksak, ACTFL President and Christi Moraga, Northeast Regional Finalist 2006 for National Language Teacher of the Year. The event was the NNELL Regional Conference held on February 3, 2007 at West Woods Upper Elementary School in Farmington, CT, with Assessment and Reading for Early Language Learning as the primary focus!

Here is the result--not only were the kids excited about receiving a Discover Languages button but he also gave out brochures to parents who were waiting for the kids on the street!
